5,115 Martyrs and 10,400 Prisoners Since the Beginning of the Intifada

A report published by the Palestinian National Information Center this past May 5 revealed that the number of Palestinian martyrs who have fallen at the hands of the Zionist occupiers reached the figure of 5,115 since the beginning of the Intifada, while the number of wounded rose to 50,075. It added that among the martyrs 942 were minors and 481 fell during operations of murder and physical liquidation.
The report also pointed out that 151 were killed at control points, 67 murdered at the hands of the colonists, while 36 worked in the health and civil defense sectors, nine worked for the press, 220 in areas of sports, and also it confirmed that the total Women martyrs were 353.
According to the report the number of prisoners rose to 10,400; of theses, 553 detainees have remained in prison since before the beginning of the current Intifada. Also among the prisoners 1,150 with chronic illnesses, 1,189 high school and university students of which 330 are minors.
The report from the Palestinian Center indicated that since the beginning of the Intifada until March 31 of this year, 645 buildings and facilities were damaged due to the Zionist occupant's aggression and 72,737 houses were destroyed or substantially damaged.
