Al-Badil List launched their Palestinian Legislative Council publicity campaign at a large festival in Ramallah on Tuesday, 3 January. The list includes members of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestinian, the Palestinian People’s Party and FIDA.

The head of the list, Qais Abdel-Karim (Abu Laila), declared, "We are starting this campaign for the election for which we have struggled long years."

Concerning the inclusion of Jerusalem in the elections, Abdel-Karim said that there is "unanimity within the Palestinian people and factions."

List member Bassam Al-Salhi said, "We start this campaign while Israel is still attacking Palestinians by killing and assassinating them. Another obstacle we face is embodied in the lawlessness in the Palestinian Authority and the kidnapping of foreigners."

Al-Salhi cautioned that any postponement of the elections will lead Palestinians to, "darkness and the unknown."
