The Democratic and Popular Fronts for the Liberation of Palestine have jointly called on Hamas and Fatah leaders to "act responsibly" and consider their national responsibilities in order to end the internecine Palestinian bloodshed.
In a joint statement, the PFLP and DFLP urged all parties, including the Egyptian security delegation in Gaza , to do all they could to end the bloodshed and internal strife. The two fronts urged Hamas and Fatah to announce an immediate ceasefire and immediately start withdrawing the gunmen from the streets and the buildings, and releasing the abducted people.
The two fronts urged the two warring factions "to seek the language of dialogue to solve their differences and to rebuild Palestinian unity in order to confront the occupation and the aggression of the Israelis."
The statement also urged Fatah and Hamas to avoid "narrow interests" and demonstrate real political partnership.
