The number of Palestinians killed at the hands of IOF attacks over the past 24 hours has risen to eight including two children in each of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
An Islamic Jihad activist, who was critically wounded in the IOF assassination crime in Jenin at dawn Saturday, succumbed to his wounds at noon.
Mostafa Atik is the third Jihad operative to be killed at the hands of IOF soldiers over the past 24 hours. A 13-year-old Palestinian boy was also killed in the IOF assassination crime in Jenin on Friday evening. A number of other civilians were wounded in the IOF shooting.
In Gaza four Palestinians were killed at the hands of IOF soldiers. Two of them were shot dead when they were trying to infiltrate into 1948 areas, according to the IOF sources. Both were teenagers.
Two resistance fighters, from Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine and Fatah Movement, were killed in violent clashes with IOF soldiers north of Gaza Strip while trying to storm a settlement.
Source in the Democratic Front said that three fighters affiliated with its armed wing the National Resistance Brigades, AMB, armed wing of Fatah, and the Nasser Salah Al-Din Brigades, wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, stormed the settlement at 0630 local time making use of the prevailing fog in the area.
The number of Palestinians killed at the hands of IOF troops over the week starting on 16th and ending on 22nd August had reached 16 including 13 in Gaza and three in the West Bank, the weekly report of the Palestinian human rights center underlined.
It said that 16 others mostly civilians were wounded in the IOF attacks including two children.
They added that clashes with IOF troops continued for 35 minutes during which two of the fighters were martyred and one managed to retreat to a safe area but no contact was available with him so far. He told the command before his disappearance that many casualties were inflicted in lines of the IOF troops.
