PLO and PA denounce ongoing Israeli aggression in Nablus
September 21, 2007

The Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Palestinian Authority (PA) on Wednesday denounced the ongoing Israeli aggression in Nablus which has resulted in the deaths of two Palestinian citizens, and the injury and apprehension of several others.

The condemnation came in a formal statement by the presidency' spokesperson. "This aggression and unleashing the Israeli military might to kill the Palestinian people and destroy their properties represents a continuation of the same criminal policy. This also leads us to enquire whether the assault was a plot prepared in advance by the Israeli government, aimed at deliberately spoiling the efforts of US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice to reach positive results between the Palestinians and the Israelis before the US-sponsored autumn summit," he said.

The spokesperson went on to say "The Israeli policy of aggressions, targeted killing and arrests against a whole people, in addition to extending settlements, and establishing the separation wall are unprecedented collective punishments. This policy indicates that the Israelis intend to destroy the peace efforts made by Rice or other Arab and international countries."

The spokesperson of the Palestinian presidency demanded that Israel halt its aggression in Al-Ayn refugee camp in Nablus as well as in all the Palestinian territories, holding the Israelis responsible for the continuation of the cycle of violence and blood shed.
