Palestinian medical sources warned that the Israeli industrial zone in the Salfit district in the northern West Bank continues to pollute the environment.
The medical sources explained that the Israeli plants in the province drain their waste liquids and toxic residues in its valleys particularly in the valley of Kafr Brukain to the west of Salfit, which led to polluting and poisoning water and crops in the area.
Because those Israeli plants also emit toxic gases in the Salfit skies which led to air pollution especially in the western area of the province, many Palestinian citizens living near to those plants have suffered different kinds of cancer, according to the sources
The Israeli occupation authority had transferred those factories from the Palestinian lands occupied in 1948, to the Salfit province after it had found out that their emissions were hazardous to health.
