The Zionist massacres will not subdue the Palestinian people, a leader of the Democratic Front affirms
December 16, 2007

Ziad Jarghoun, member of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, assured that massacres committed by the Zionist occupation forces will not subdue the Palestinian people. These killings —perpetrated in Rafah, other areas of the Gaza Strip and in the West Bank — left seven martyrs.

Jarghoun valued highly the role of the armed resistance that faced the attacks that began on December 11 with the latest invasion of Rafah.

In his statement, issued the same day as attacks, Jarghoun said the escalation of Zionist violence in the Palestinian territories and the accelerated colonialist policy in the West Bank and Jerusalem demonstrates the Israeli decision to reject peace.

He called for an end to internal division and urged work to unite the ranks of the Palestinian people. The leader also demanded a positive response from the Al-Fatah and Hamas movements in the face of the initiatives of other national forces and their attempts to find a way out of the crisis in which the Palestinian cause lives, especially after the military action by Hamas in Gaza this past June.

The ranking DFLP leader affirmed that the resistance will respond to the Israeli acts of aggression and that all means necessary will be used to defend Palestinian civilians.
