Statement

The Democratic Front, bids farewell to the great leader George Habash, one of the outstanding symbols of the revolution of our people and its national struggle

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) bid farewell —from all of its officials and rank-and-file members, both at home and abroad— to Dr. George Habash, who was one of the grand symbols of the struggle of the Palestinian people and their revolution, and who was a founder of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

The DFLP eulogized the quality of the great martyr who dedicated his entire life to the service of the Palestinian people and who was present at the most difficult moments in the life of his people defending Palestine and its cause. He also played an outstanding role in the Palestinian armed resistance and its revolutionary organizations.

The Front considers that the passing of Dr. Habash is a great loss for the Palestinian national movement and for the entire Arab and international movement.

The organization affirmed that the legacy left by Dr. Habash and his unifying role would continue giving effective guidance to generations of fighters in pursuit of our people’s objectives of freedom and independence.

The DFLP offers its condolences to the deceased Palestinian leader’s family and to his comrades of the Popular Front, especially the battle-hardened prisoner Ahmad Saadat, general secretary of the PFLP and to all our people.

The Front calls for the great leader’s path to be set as an example for uniting the Palestinian ranks, for putting an end to the sharp internal division and for directing all efforts against occupation.
