The Center for the Defense of Freedom and Civil Rights Hurriat calls upon the international community —especially the countries involved with the political arrangement—, the General Secretary of United Nations and regional and international human rights institutions to assume their legal and moral responsibilities. It appeals for these bodies to take action regarding the protection of Palestinian civilians, who are the target of Zionist violations in the occupied territories.
In a memorandum distributed to human rights organizations, the Hurriat Center demanded these international institutions and countries mobilize to stop the increased Israeli aggression and the daily crimes committed against the Palestinian people. It affirmed that the systematic violations of the human rights of the Palestinians, taking place without international protests or measures, encourages Israel to continue its criminal acts, murder, arrests, collective punishment and inhuman treatment at the control points, in addition to the unjust blockade imposed against the Gaza Strip.
The Center points to the world silence before the Hebrew state’s violations of international law and the Geneva Convention, as the organization renewed its call to condemn savage aggression, and to stop and impede the Israeli forces from committing more crimes, of whom the majority of its victims are children, women and the elderly.
