The Democratic Front rejects the use of the force to solve internal differences
The latest and dangerous events which have occurred in the Gaza Strip, and the warlike explosion among the Al-Fatah and Hamas movements, have caused the loss of human lives, properties and the destruction of institutions and security headquarters. This has put the Palestinian situation on the edge of a civil war and in a political crisis that threatens democratic life, the achievements of the national struggle of our people and the collapse of the institutions of the Palestinian Authority, in addition to deepening internal division.
The continuing of the current situation impedes the possibility of reconstructing national unity — the only weapon to confront the Israeli enemy and its expansionary policies.
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine calls on our people, its political forces and national and social activists to unite efforts to face the consequences of this dangerous situation. To open new perspectives that allow for the reconstruction of the uniting of the Palestinian line we affirm the following:
1. - we reject and condemn the use of military force to solve differences within the Palestinian ranks and we assure that serious and responsible dialogue is the only road to achieve common denominators and to avoid the division wanted by the enemy.
2. - to declare a state of emergency does not offer a solution that is battering our people; on the contrary, it complicates it even more. To return to national solutions and to make the supreme interests of our people prevail is the road to reconstruction of national unity on firm bases.
3. - we make a call to prohibit all types of internal confrontation, the spilling of Palestinian blood and aggression under any pretext. We also call for the return to national global dialogue among all Palestinian organizations to reach political solutions with the backing of the program of the national consensus materialized in the National Reconciliation Document and the Resolutions of the Declaration of Cairo, with the objective of reconstructing unity on the basis of a coalition in the National Palestinian Authority and the PLO that allows the strengthening of the resistance in the face of Zionist occupation, external pressure, the lifting of the blockade imposed on our people and the protection of the national project, far from the policies of quotas that led to the division and conflict.
