DFLP Declaration on the Day of International Solidarity with the Palestinian People

To our valiant people
To all the progressive forces of the world

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) salutes our people on this 29th of November —International Day of Solidarity with the Palestine Cause— the date on which, in 1947, our homeland was divided by the UN General Assembly’s unjust Resolution 181.

Sixty years have passed since that date when Palestine was divided and later usurped. We affirm that to convert this history into a day of solidarity with the just struggle of the people is a great achievement and sends a clear message for the world to recall its duties and responsibilities in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their arduous battle for our inalienable rights.

The Palestinians, with their firmness and great sacrifices, for decades have defeated attempts by the Zionist occupier to eliminate the Palestinian people’s national identity and to impose themselves at all Arab, regional and international levels.

Our people are maintaining their resistance and firmness in the face of the most sophisticated weapons of murder, genocide and destruction. Today, more than ever, we need world solidarity to achieve our legitimate national rights, represented by the creation of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, and to guarantee the right of the refugees to the return to their homes from which they were expelled in 1948, by virtue of the Resolution 194.

On this day of solidarity with the just Palestinian cause, the DFLP expresses its fraternal greetings to all forces of liberation in the world and insists on the importance of its efforts to stop savage Israeli aggression against the defenceless civilians of Gaza and the West Bank. Likewise, we call for our prisoners are liberated and the government of Tel Aviv be forced to accept the UN resolutions relating to the Palestinian cause.

Today, at the time in which we direct greetings to our battle-hardened people, we call out to all Palestinian forces and organizations to close ranks in the face of the aggressor.

Once again, we reaffirm that to guarantee the components of stability and national resistance requires, in the first place, the regaining of Palestinian national unity, putting an end to the state of division, reconstructing the PLO and forming a unity government. These will serve as guarantees to continuing along the path of struggle until achieving the desires of our people for freedom and to prevent the dangers posed by the Annapolis conference; this was summoned by United States and took place with the objective of impeding the possibility of true Palestinian independence and pushing aside the right of the refugees to return.
