The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) affirms its commitment to the right to return as a sacred, non-negotiable and non-renounceable national right, guaranteed by international law and by United Nations Resolution 194.
The Democratic Front rejects the speech of Netanyahu on the condition of recognizing to the state of Israel as a Jewish state, what would mean the annulment of the right to return of more than 5 million Palestinian refugees. In addition this would put in danger, through racist plans of expulsion (“transfer” plans), to more than 1.3 million Palestinian citizens who live in the territories of 1948.
On the occasion of World Refugee Day, June 20, the DFLP condemns the expansionary statements of Netanyahu that call for the creation of an unarmed Palestinian State, without Jerusalem, and without the right of the Palestinian refugees to return to their homes of which they were dispossessed. His statements reflect the policy of continued colonialism on the West Bank as well as in Jerusalem.
The Front calls on the National Palestinian Authority to reject negotiating with the ultra-right government of Israeli as long as it does not put an end to its expansionary policies, stop the construction of settlements and accept the resolutions of international law guaranteeing the right of our people to self-determination, the creation of an independent Palestinian state (with Jerusalem as the capital), and the return of the refugees by virtue of Resolution 194.
The Front demands Al-Fatah and Hamas put an end to the division to provide the appropriate climate for achieving success in comprehensive national talks, foreseen to take place this coming July 7 in Cairo, and in this way be able to face the conditions and declarations of the Netanyahu government.
