The Democratic Front: Israeli Special Forces Murder Student Leader in Cold Blood

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine condemns the murder, committed by Israeli Special Forces, of comrade Mohammad Mustafa Al-Haj Ahmad member of the leadership of the Democratic Front and secretary of the Democratic Youth Union in the West Bank village of Araba.

Mohammad Mustafa was murdered in cold blood, while two comrades who accompanied him at the moment of the crime were injured and taken away by Zionist forces to an unknown destination.

This premeditated murder by the Israelis confirms the insistence of Sharon’s government to continue following its aggressive policies against our Palestinian people, its leadership and militants, shows indifference to the truce discussed at the Sharm al-Sheikh summit.

Organizations of the Palestinian resistance continue to adhere to that truce, despite the violations by the Israelis. Sharon’s government alone is responsible for the criminal consequences that threaten the collapse of the fragile truce.

The Democratic Front calls upon all international and regional forces to intervene and put an end to the savage Israeli policy of aggression. It also urges the International Red Cross and human rights organizations to assume the responsibility of finding out the location of the martyr’s partners and to prevent another crime from being committed against them.

The occupier’s bloodthirsty stance demands a serious Palestinian position within the Monitoring Committee that resulted from past talks in Cairo between Palestinians; these talks had the purpose of evaluating the situation as well to initiate steps to protect the security of our people and our right to self-defense and resistance in the face of aggression by the Hebrew state in the occupied territories.
