Union of Health Care Committees condemn brutal acts against Palestinian People
Within the Israeli recurrent aggressive campaigns towards Nablus City and its camps, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) raided the Old City of Nablus at dawn and shot fire at civilians causing the death and the injuries of many civilians at Al-Qaryoun neighborhood. Meanwhile, two of our volunteers “Feras and Fursan Al-Qadoumi” (siblings) who reside at the scene of event put on their uniform and carried the necessary materials for aiding the injured at 4:30 am. After they contacted the ambulance, they started treating the injured who was severely wounded and while carrying him to the ambulance that is ten meters far, (IOF) aimed fire at the two volunteers; “Fursan” got a “live bullet” in his “right arm” that made him unable to carry the injured; “Feras” kept on carrying the injured and rushed him to the ambulance but (IOF) shot at “Feras” and he got a bullet in his “left thigh” and flinders all over his body; later on the two paramedics were carried to hospital after treating themselves by themselves. At the same time and in another area, another paramedic from the Palestinian Red Crescent was injured.
This is not the first time on which (IOF) aim fire at the medical teams and paramedics; these behaviors are frequent and deliberate as (IOF) shoot from zero distance although it is quite clear and obvious that those civilians are wearing their medical uniforms. At every Israeli invasion and incursion, the scene repeats itself as Only in Nablus City 7 of our paramedics were injured during Al-Aqsa Intifada.
We in Union of Health Care Committees (UHCC) condemn those brutal acts against our Palestinian People; it is clear that the Israeli tyranny is targeting the Will of the Palestinian People who are seeking independence and liberation. We denounce the Israelis vicious deeds towards our medical teams and call upon all concerned International Institutions to put pressure on the Israeli Government to abide to the International Conventions that guarantee for the Humanitarian Organizations the freedom to work in times of crises and wars. And we need to say that any institution under the umbrella of the United Nations should play good role in implementing Worldwide Peace and Security.
We in UHCC will not be threatened by the Israeli violent manners as we are fully committed at fulfilling our humanitarian, national, and vocational duties towards our Palestinian people, injured, and children, and we shall keep on working until we achieve all of our goals.
